What is the BYB Program?

The Build Your Business (BYB) program through Arete Pro Painting is unlike anything else. The program allows college students and young professionals the opportunity to build and run a small business from scratch in the form of an internship.

Unlike most internships where people are assigned tasks, our internship gives direct responsibility of an entire Arete Pro Painting Branch. BYB program members are responsible for marketing and sales, hiring and firing employees, and the quality control of their jobsites.

The BYB program leads to future growth in the company, as every member of our company has graduated from the BYB program. As we continue to grow, many high level management positions will be opened up and must be filled by BYB program graduates.

The biggest and most unique growth opportunity of the BYB program comes in of the form of business ownership.

Arete Pro Painting has a strong commitment to developing young entrepreneurs. Our BYB program graduates have the opportunity to becomes full-time business owners of the Branch they built in the internship. The purpose of the BYB program is to develop business owners, not just great employees!

How does the BYB program work?

BYB members get assigned a full-time mentor that has previously been successful in the program. This mentor will walk the BYB program member through every step of the process. Interested candidates may contact us for more information by clicking the button below!

Josh Vetalice

Josh Vetalice

I am Joshua Vetalice, I am currently a senior at The University of Texas at Austin, and I was recently promoted to Branch Manager of Arete Pro Painting. I started at Arete as an intern in the Junior BYB (Build Your Business) program, where I worked on field marketing. After a few weeks I was given an opportunity to take on more responsibility, and became a Leads Manager, where I coordinated a team of Field Marketers. Working as Leads Manager, I got real world experience managing a team, and learned what it takes to make a group of people work together cohesively and successfully. I recently got promoted into the Full-Time BYB program, and am excited to start working as a Branch Manager throughout my senior year gaining more valuable experience that many do not get the opportunity to experience. I highly recommend Arete Pro Painting’s BYB program to anybody who is eager to gain hands on experience through an amazing internship that can help shape your future!

Kevin Arevalo

Kevin Arevalo

I am Kevin Arevalo, a full-time student at Texas State University, and the current Production Manager of Arete Pro Painting. I started as an intern in the BYB (Build Your Business) Program, where I was able to build and run my own branch of the company. The whole role of being a Branch Manager gives students the opportunity to go out and get the real life, hands on experience that is hard to find. Throughout the course of the internship it was made clear that there was a chance that this internship I started could become more than just a summer thing. That is why I put my best foot forward and hit it hard to get the chance for this to become a part-time/full-time job. After a few fun and knowledgeable months, I got the news that I was going to get promoted to become the Production Manager of Arete Pro Painting. Therefore, anyone who is interested in joining the team and start your adventure with the BYB program, know that what you thought would just be an internship could become a career for your future.
